EMDR Phase II: The Art of Preparation and Resourcing
This workshop was developed to assist EMDR providers by offering a dedicated space to focus on the preparation phase of EMDR, with an integrated mindfulness-informed lens. As a consultant, I have had many consultees raise questions about Phase II, including how long to remain in Phase II, when to return to Phase II, and what is included and not included in this phase. This workshop is designed to explore, from the perspective of the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, case conceptualization that considers trauma, the nervous system, mindfulness-based awareness, the window of tolerance...Read more, and attachment styles. We will review resourcing skills covered in EMDR Basic Training, and discuss and practice a variety of additional resourcing and mindfulness-based applications that can be useful in Phase II, as well as for clients to practice between sessions.
